There's an awful lot of Capricorn energy going on currently - a goat fest if ever!! The Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury and Pluto are all in the earthy sign of Capricorn at the moment. Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn is preparing to leave Scorpio for Sagittarius on Christmas Eve, and will remain there for the next two years. That's a BIG thing, and I will discuss it in a later blog.
Capricorn is a sign familiar with suffering (yeps!) which is why all this Capricorn energy may be difficult for some. It can be a very sad time of the year for some folk, as they remember departed loved ones, or have difficulty making ends meet. Delivering happiness to your family and others, when your happy tank is empty, is not an easy task! This is a time to reach out to others and ASK FOR HELP!
Capricorn is a practical sign, and not one to waste time, or energy, moaning. They are hard workers, and plough through the pain in their lives to get the job done. They just keep on trucking. They've been down - and baby! - they sure know how to pull themselves up! So, during this Capricorn time of year, let's take a leaf from their ever-so-down-to-earth and kindly ways. Let's make this season real!
Here are some suggestions:-
Help the downtrodden. Knowing there are always people worse off than you, makes you appreciate what you have got. In addition, you reap the rewards, and your happy tanks fills up again!
Start new family traditions. Capricorn is a sign that values tradition. Start a couple of new ones this season. What about starting a Christmas family album? Include favourite family recipes, Christmas cards sent out over the years, photos from the past, etc. Some people have a tradition of wearing weird socks, games, going to a movie, opening presses on Christmas Eve by the fireside, etc. It's never too late to start! This year, I think I will make a batch of my Almond Rocca, dark chocolate mint bark, and deliver it in a cheery tin, decorated with bells, to my neighbours...Maybe even get a door-to-door Christmas carol singing going - ending in an open-house...Who knows??
Become more committed to your family. With the moon and pluto both in serious Capricorn, now is a good time to open a dialogue with estranged family members.
Some of you may experience intense pain, physically, or mentally - if you do - it's a good time to ask for help!
Make a Vision Board for 2015. This is a very good use of all that Capricorn energy going down currently! Capricorn is ambitious and likes to expend their energy in a goal directed manner. So, get all those old magazines out, and become Focused to Win!

ROBIN WILLIAMS...R.I.P...WHY OH WHY??
My first reaction on hearing about Robin Williams's death was to blame that big bad moon we had the day before he died. I know he died on Monday the 11th, but if the truth be known, he had one hell of a horrible weekend beforehand. Robin was born under the sign of Cancer, which is ruled by the moon. Cancerians are extremely sensitive around the time of a full moon, and this one was particularly nasty! Hence the word Lunatic. Never underestimate the power of the moon, especially for those born between June 22nd and July 22nd.
Robin was a double water sign, having his moon in ultra sensitive Pisces, opposing Venus in Virgo. The potential for depression is definitely in that line-up! He would have been a very kind person, but sadly, his own worst enemy at times. There was also a lack of earth in his birth chart, but a lot of fire and water. Earth influences in a chart help provide stability to the individual. Too much water and fire can produce a lot of steam!! A lack of earth in a person's chart also indicates the individual is not materialistic, and money matters can sometimes be very badly managed. Even though Robin made a lot of money, and worked extremely hard, he also lost a lot of money, due to some bad decisions he made in his personal life.
If you never believed in Astrology, you may change your mind if you knew about the painful planetary stuff going on inside his delicate frame, prior to his death. And there was plenty! Before I get into that, I think we should also give some consideration to his family of origin. I get the sense little Robin was very much a loner. He was an only child, born into a wealthy family. When he told his father of his desire to become an actor, his dad's reaction was "maybe you should have a back-up trade, like welding". I don't get a sense that there was a lot of love or support there. As a family loving Cancerian, Robin may also have had some unresolved issues from his childhood. I think it is mighty telling that he married his son's Nanny. Maybe he wanted to be 'nannied' too!
As mentioned earlier, his astrological ingredients would definitely indicate a pre-disposition for depression. Now, let's add to the mix the very nasty Uranus/Pluto square, currently driving everybody insane. Uranus is in Aries, which squares his sun, and Pluto is in Capricorn which opposes his Sun in Cancer. So there would have been a hell of a tug-of-war going on within him for the past two years.
In addition, transiting Pluto was closely opposing Robin's Mars/Uranus conjunction at the time of his death. A Pluto transit opposite either of these two strong planets could certainly trigger a suicide. Mars is an aggressive planet, and prone to instant action. Suicide can sometimes be seen as an angry aggressive act. The aggression being turned within. As well as this, the planet Uranus, which governs electricity, can trigger sudden emotional outbursts.
Saturn (the planet of pain) was recently hovering over his ascendant in Leo, and the close square to his Natal Pluto didn't help matters. Tough transits from Saturn and Pluto can trigger deep emotional issues.
I am blaming the planets Pluto (the death planet), Saturn (the pain planet), Mars (the angry aggressive planet) Uranus (the impetuous planet), and the Moon (emotional roller coaster), for his death. I need to blame somebody! Robin just didn't know how to correctly handle the energy generated by the planets. He became their puppet, and sadly, the string broke!
I wish with all my heart he had come to me before he undid his belt. (no innuendo intended Robin!), I would have put my arms around his sad shoulders, given him a monster hug, put the kettle on for a cup of soothing hot chocolate, and helped him to shush away the nasty noise within him.
Like a lot of comedians, behind the mask, his life was anything but funny. What a tragic loss.

FEEL THE FEAR...AND DO IT ANYHOW!
The planetary energy flowing around at the moment is weird, but since we have a full moon in Aquarius coming this Sunday, the word 'weird' may not be so weird after all!! The Sun is currently in Leo, which is polar opposite to Aquarius, both signs are known to be rather 'fixed' in their ways - 'my way or the highway'. How will this energy manifest itself unto us humanoids?
For one thing, full moons bring out the beast in some of us, as in 'luna...tic'. The luna makes you tick or thick - whatever - your choice. In addition to the full moon in Aquarius this weekend, the moon conjuncts pluto in Capricorn today. Fortunately, mars in Scorpio supports this union. That person who may be annoying you, force yourself to think of one thing you like about that person. Dumb down the voice inside your head that causes you to be judgemental about others.

TROUBLE IN PARADISE THIS WEEKEND!!
O.K. fellows, I thought I'd better warn you! There are a couple of not-so-nice relationship-issues, which could manifest this weekend. Expect some drama. Freedom-loving, and commitment-phobic energy will be flying around like wasps, ready to sting, especially if you try to trap 'em!!
Here goes:-
Venus will be squaring Uranus. If you are in a rather shaky relationship to begin with, then it is very likely the 'freedom-lover' of the duo will be going for a long hike. "I'm outta here" may be heard in towns and villages all around the world...and cities too!!
Next, Mars will be squaring Uranus, so there will be a tendency for people prone to impulsivity, to really act impulsively this weekend - be warned!! With that mars squaring Uranus, there could be even violence! So if you are in a domestically violent situation currently, please be aware, and take precaution!! Do not stir the pot, and pick your arguments - wisely.
Lastly, and I'm not keeping the best for last. Pluto will be opposing Venus - ouchy ouchy!! Lots of drama, especially for Aries and Scorpio, who are directly ruled by Mars (Aries) Scorpio (Pluto).
Forewarned is half the battle!!
Get out and enjoy the sun, and don't plan on proposing this weekend! Keep things easy peasy!

BRANGELINA ON MY MIND...
I should warn you - this blog is longer than my usual ones. Better put the kettle on! I don't usually elaborate on each person individually, but Angelina Jolie has one of the most incredible birth charts I have seen in a long time. As I studied her chart, my heart began pounding at the sheer craziness of it all. How could any person be so dang insane, and yet turn her life around to become the hugely successful woman she is today? There was such an immense amount of conflicting energy going on within her. She has a stellium (4 planets) in Aries, the most macho sign of the zodiac, contrasting with her Ascendant and Venus in Cancer, the most feminine sign. Is she a veritable Lolita, or a kick ass Boudicca? The truth lies somewhere in the middle.
Brad Pitt's birth chart was interesting too, but not half as much as Angelina's. Without a doubt, he is the rock in this union. He does have one highly unusual thing going on in his chart, in that his Sun makes no aspects to any other planet, also known as an un-aspected Sun. People with this configuration tend to go it alone, do not rely on others, and value their space. He also has conflicting energy within. His Sun and Ascendant are both in freedom loving Sagittarius, but he also has four planets in the ultra-conservative, hard-working, and responsible sign of Capricorn. The way he has embraced fatherhood tells me the Capricorn side of his nature is at the helm of this union.
Angelina has both Sun and Mercury in the restless sign of Gemini. Gemini is the sign of the twins, and if ever a woman had two distinct sides to her nature, she is a perfect example. To add fuel to her already lively fire, she has a powerful Moon conjunct Mars in the macho sign of Aries, opposing Pluto, which might very well explain her fearless independent nature, and fondness for guns and knives. If that wasn't enough excitement, she has Venus in Cancer on her ascendant squaring Uranus--God help the men!--that's all I can say about that!! Not just the men, she was into women as well--not unusual for Gemini, a masculine dual sign. Boring she is not. The Venus square Uranus would indicate an attraction to unusual partners, willfulness, and a LOT of sexual experimentation.
Her interest in blood rituals may be understood by her Moon conjunct Mars in Aries (the sign of war) on her Saturn/Pluto midpoint. Early on in her life, she enjoyed cutting herself. She said that it made her feel alive (I could think of better ways). As a wedding present to her ex-husband, Billy Bob Thornton, she handwrote a message to him in her own blood with the words "To the end of Time". She had it framed, and placed above their wedding bed. She was so insanely in love with Billy Bob, she had herself admitted to a hospital for fear she would harm herself. I attribute that to all the warrior Aries stuff, conflicting with the already conflicting Venus square Uranus, and her moon opposing Pluto. Her emotions are all over the map.
As I absorbed all Angelina's astrological information, I couldn't help but think of another Gemini-- Marilyn Monroe. Both Angelina and Marilyn had troubled childhoods. Despite all her macho, independent ways, Angelina has experienced deep feelings of insecurity, and doubts about her abilities. She has Mercury retrograde, which makes her feel very misunderstood at times. In addition, she has her Moon square Saturn, indicating feelings of discontent and insecurity. Her natal Saturn in Cancer tells me she felt somewhat isolated within her family.
To add insult to injury, her moon opposes Pluto, so as a child and teenager, she would have experienced intense conflict between herself and a parent figure. I believe she had some issues with her father, which have been painfully resolved. They did not speak for years. This could have contributed to a love/hate element in her relationships with others. As a teenager, she had a morbid fascination with death, (could be attributed to her 3rd house Pluto) and entertained many a suicidal thought. Troubled-- that she was.
Then along came Brad...
Solid as a rock Brad, with his four personal planets, Mars, Mercury, Moon, and Venus all in the responsible, hard-working, and disciplined, sign of Capricorn. How on earth could he tame Angelina? For starters, he is good-looking--that helps!! And he is older--that helps too. But the real attraction comes from his Sun and Ascendant, both in the ultra charming sign of Sagittarius, which is polar opposite to her Sun in Gemini. They are polar opposites in almost every single way. All his planets in Capricorn oppose all her planets in Aries, their Sun oppose each other, his moon in Capricorn squares her moon in Aries. Her Ascendant and Venus in Cancer oppose all his Capricorn planets. They say opposites attract, and yes, there is massive sexual chemistry going on. However!!--theirs is a relationship that will require a huge deal of effort, and communication, if their love is to stand the test of time.
Angelina has no earth in her chart, so clearly well-earthed Brad grounds her, and gives her the sense of security which she lacks. Because of his Mars squaring her Moon, he will need to hold back when an argument is looming, to avoid angry outbursts. I think a big plus for their union is the fact Brad's natal Jupiter conjuncts Angelina's Moon/Mars/Jupiter/MC stellium. The generosity and benevolence he extends to Angelina re-enforces her feeling of inner security, and encourages her boldness, as far as her public image and career are concerned. So yes, take a bow, Brad!
Even though their conjugal relationship, from an astrological viewpoint, only scores 49%, there is still good reason they will survive, provided they both put in the mammoth effort required, and respect each other's differences. They are both dedicated to their children, and share a commitment to improving the world. It will take a lot to shake off Brad. He is in it for the long haul. Were it not for the children, I'd watch Angelina!! She has a restless streak...I think she is married to her work now, which isn't a problem for Brad, who enjoys his own space, and would not be a demanding spouse. Just like Beyonce and Jay Z, money sure helps to honey out any bumps in the hive!!

BEYONCE AND JAY Z...IS IT FOR REAL??
Mama Mia, this relationship is the beeeez knees! It works, and there sure is a lot of sizzling chemistry going down. I used to wonder to myself how a sensitive, private, Virgo gal (Beyonce) could be compatible with a fire engine Sagittarius (Jay Z), but let me tell you--there is more to their relationship than meets the eye!
Normally, I would not team a Virgo with a Sagittarius for everlasting love--more like friendship--but Beyonce is not a normal Virgo, and Jay Z is not a normal Sagittarius...goodeeee!! This means there is love potential here, and I want these darlings to stay together. There is nothing like money to honey out any bumps in the hive...and yes, with Jay Z's stinging tongue, it is best to keep on his sweet side!
Now down to their chemistry...
They aced it in the LOVE department! Jay Z's Mars in Aquarius is in perfect harmony with Beyonce's Venus in Libra. Her Mars in Leo is also great with his Sun in Sagittarius. Her Moon and rising sign in Scorpio snuggle up nicely with his Venus in Scorpio.
In addition, Beyonce has a stellium in Libra, the most charming sign in the zodiac. By stellium I mean 5 planets (Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto) are all in Libra--that's an awful lot of charm to house under her modest Virgo sun, and helps offset some of the differences between their sun signs.
Interestingly, both Beyonce and Jay Z have a Moon conjunct Uranus aspect in their individual charts, which means they are both independent, resourceful, and need excitement in their lives. Yeps, there is no shortage of that!!
I could tell by Jay Z's smouldering gaze that he had some sexy Scorpio hiding inside of him. He has his Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto, and conjunct Neptune which tells me he is a very intense and committed partner, and expects the same in return. In addition, he has his rising sign in Virgo, which is very compatible with Beyonce's sun in Virgo. It helps to soften his hard edges and ground him.
I mentioned Jay Z's stinging tongue earlier...he has Mercury square Pluto--Ouch!! Coupled with his Sag Sun, I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him!! When he is being sharp tongued, I hope Beyonce tells him to Buzz Off!
Jay Z's Sun opposing his Midheaven tells me family is very important to him. That's good, because it is also very important to Beyonce. In addition, he has his Venus conjunct Neptune, indicating a very private and romantic person. Communications between them flow nicely. His Mercury in Sagittarius has an ease of expression with her Mercury in Libra.
Is it any wonder Beyonce is the 'Queen Bee'?! She sure makes her Jay Z Buzzz. He just needs to keep his sharp little tongue singing, not stinging!

BOY GEORGE - IS IT A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN??
Like most women, George Clooney has always fascinated me. Why can't he settle down? Why is he such a serial heart-breaker? Will his current love-interest - Amal Alamuddin, the Lebanese-British born Barrister and Multi-lingual Oxford-educated Human Rights Lawyer finally seal the deal??
She has more letters after her name than George, and if that doesn't do it - what will??
George snobby?? Yeps. I've the scoop on this handsome heart-breaker. As a typical Taurus, George is into 'Investment pieces' and no, he does not like to be rushed (as if we couldn't guess!!). He does feel entitled to a 'good catch' and with his equally snobby and financially cautious Capricorn moon, he fears a potential 'ALIMOONEY' - get it?? So that might give us a clue as to why he is marriage-cautious. (this snobby side does frustrate his more earthy, bull side at times!!)
In his defense, he is quick to remind critics that Yes, he was married once, which is true. He was married for four years to Pisces Talia Balsam from '89-'93. He slithered out of the union saying "I wasn't very good at it". Liar. If George was just a normal guy working a normal 9-5 job, Talia would have been a perfect match for him. You see he has a Pisces rising sign, and Pisces and Taurus make charming bedfellows. But George is not a perfectly normal guy - enooo!

This is a trade-off in the love department. As a romantic, I have one other concern for George and Amal. They are both fixed signs, which means stuff like compromise will be difficult for these two stubborn, and at times, opinionated, individuals.

A NEW MOON SWEEPS CLEAN - REJOICE!
Everybody - even the dogs on the street - have been complaining about the recent Mercury retrograde reign of terror..."The worst one yet!"..."When is it about to end?"..."Can I take my planetary armour off?" Well, the good news is, Mercury turns direct on Tuesday, July 1st in the cardinal sign of Cancer. It will have a happy landing, supported by Mars in Libra and the Moon in Leo. So good times are ahead!
As we know, life is always a "mixed" bag - we just need to appreciate the good times and be on guard for the less savoury moments. With the current Pluto-flavoured Mars/Uranus opposition, my advice to you all in the coming week is "Pick your arguments," or better still, "No fighting!" Mr. Temper will be out walking, and you don't want to bump into him!
The best news of all is a new moon in Cancer tomorrow, so set your intentions tonight... A double dose of cardinal energy is a pretty nice consolation prize after all that nasty Mercury retro gunk. Cardinal energy gets the job done!

WE NEED TO TALK - FAST!!
O.K. O.K. it's that dreaded time of year again - mercury retrograde with its accompanying confusion, chaos, deception and 'foggy mind' syndrome. Was Friday the 13th weird for you?? In addition to the MR curse, we also had a full moon in Sagittarius opposing the sun in Gemini yesterday. I planned ahead and kept my mind and body busy. I had my daughter's Graduation and that was beautiful. I stayed away from trouble!!
I don't particularly like this current MR in the sign of Gemini, which is ruled by Mercury. Why? Because mercury is known to be a trickster of sorts, and there sure is a lot of trickin' going on at the moment, and none of it is a treat!! I listen to people talking, I observe, I see, and yes, MR has been busy.
Over the next few weeks, until the beginning of July, employ due diligence in all your affairs - especially contracts, computers, cars, and your communications with others. Leave clear messages on telephones, emails, etc. Speak directly, and deliver what you promise. Then all shall be well - forewarned is half the battle! Arm yourself.
Now to the positive!!
This is a time for introspection and alone-time. You can gain a lot from finishing projects you started hundreds of hours ago. Finish that half painted back door, sew that button sitting on the sideboard, back onto your jacket where it belongs, write that thank-you letter, create your dream board (great time for that), start that blog, de-clutter - YES! - great time for that. Burn old papers, out with the old - in with the new.
Mercury retrograde is a time to get in touch with yourself, quieten your mind somewhat. Clear the way for brand new beginnings...

PATTI - A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!
C'mon, who can deny that Patti a.k.a. 'Millionaire Matchmaker' has a way with words. I could listen to her forever because she is so downright funny! Too bad I didn't know about her when I was writing my book 'Children of the Stars' all those years ago, as I would surely have awarded her a place in the 'Gemini House of Fame'. Patti is probably one of the best examples of a true Gemini that I know, with her speed of thinking, frank use of words, and bubbly sense of humour. In fact she reminds me of fellow Geminis, comedienne Joan Rivers, and sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer. Nobody can get away with speaking so frankly about sex as Patti, Joan and Dr. Ruth. Others have tried, but in my opinion Patti, Joan and Dr. Ruth reign supreme!
My daughters have treated me to the ultimate birthday present - I get to see Patti in person this coming weekend. Yeah!! can't wait for Saturday. I'm a matchmaker too, but a different sort. I like to get down to the nuts and bolts of an individual's astrological chart, and do my own kind of mixin' and matchin'. I've been doing this for 40 years now. It would appear the older I get - the less I know!! Astrology is constantly evolving, and there is always something new to learn. And yes, I walk the talk. I used it to help me find the right mate. Thirty two years later 'Je ne regret pas rien!' (pardon my French!)
When a couple come to me for guidance, I like to be honest, and say it like it is. I have a checklist, and want to be able to tick off at least 5 boxes. I'd settle for 4, but would be concerned if there were less than 3 good connections between their charts. If the two Suns are not especially compatible - don't worry. Many happy couples often have incompatible Suns. However - of more significance to me is a good Sun/Moon connection. In my years of studying marriage charts, I have found that the couples who stay together have good Sun/Moon connections, good Sun/Ascendant connections, good Saturn and Jupiter connections, and for sizzling chemistry - hot Mars/Venus connections.
Is it any wonder then that the Indians who have a vested interest in arranged marriages, always employ the use of an Astrologer. It makes total sense. I'm not telling you anything new. Astrology has been around for more than seven thousand years. The reason it has survived so long is simply because it works!
So be wise - don't sign the dotted line before consulting with the Celestial Gods...

THE AQUARIUS MAN...
A whole book could be written and then some...
The Aquarius man is a law unto himself...and boy does he know it. Charming, unconventional, independent, cool, detached, highly intelligent, objective, curious, weird, whacky, stubborn, sociable, humanitarian - and light years ahead of his time...Contrary to what people think, Aquarius is not a water sign. It is a 'fixed' masculine Air sign. Its symbol is the water bearer, but that is where the similarity ends. Air is all about ideas and abstract thinking. Water is all about emotions and feeling.
Before you go proposing to him on the strength of above...Stop, Look, and Listen to your heart...
If you want to spend the rest of your life with a toe-tickling "Darling would you like a cup of tea" type of guy, then sorry, Mr. A is not the man for you. If I had my way...
I would look exactly like Christie Brinkley, who turned 60 on February 2nd. She looks amazing - and is also one of the 10 richest models in the world, with an estimated worth in 2008 of $80 million. I wouldn't mind looking like Aquarians Jennifer Aniston or indeed the gorgeous Jane Seymour for that matter. Oprah and Ellen - so famous, they don't need a surname. Look at the way Oprah has shaped and changed our world. Aquarians are ahead of their time - light years ahead in fact...

WAS I EVER RIGHT!!
Remember I told you I wanted to stay in bed Thursday? Was it a premonition? or maybe just the planets up to mischief? Yes to the aforementioned.
Thursday, so say the least, was fraught with frustration. No, I didn't tell the traffic lights on Foul Bay and Richmond junction to go on the blink, it just happened all by itself, causing quite a consternation! No, it wasn't my fault that somebody forgot our appointment, and left me standing in the cold. Yes, it was my fault that I left the car keys in my coat pocket, and poor Claudia, who had an exam to sit at 1.00 could not find them. She must have prayed to St. Anthony, because she was inspired to try my coat pocket where they were hiding.
No, it wasn't my fault that the fellow at the Bank was so grouchy, and did not want to lodge my cheques, because they belonged to my daughters, one of whom lives in Vancouver. I had to explain to him there never has been a problem with this before. I was just lodging... After a frustrating encounter, he finally found his manners.
No, it wasn't my fault that when driving to a musical event last night, a fellow quickly reversed from his driveway out onto the main road, narrowly missing me - again!! Yes, it was my fault that when I did get to the musical event, I could not find my ticket - drat! Hate when that happens. I had to buy another ticket after emptying my whole handbag in vain. I laughed at my friend Pat exclaiming "Oh, it's just Mercury Retro. Still don't know where that missing ticket went to!
Just thought I'd share some funny mercury retro communication glitches!!
Believe me, I laughed through them all. I get a weird kick out of seeing the planets playing their little games. If you find interesting things happening to you - now you know!

EXPRESS YOURSELF!
Mercury retrograde is regarded as being a pesky annoyance of an astrological transit. That's usually the reaction to the raft of technological and communication glitches that occur when this planet flips into reverse motion. When I discuss it with friends, they'll joke about being in a restaurant, and the waitress bringing the wrong order, or waiting for that phone call that never comes, etc. I remember once losing my watch during a retro phase. It had fallen into a hole in my jacket pocket lining!! People experiencing frustrations in their day-to-day life will sometimes phone me and ask in frustration "Is Mercury retrograde by any chance!" Yeps, it usually is.
Now, let's not be all down on poor Mercury. He has to do his thing. Stuff happens for a reason. Usually, it is a message for us to slow down! These periods are a good time for introspection and reflection. Because Mercury has just switched into the very creative sign of Pisces, maybe we need to evaluate ways of expressing ourselves. It is a great time to journal, or take up painting, in an effort to express yourself.
It is important to look at the sign that Mercury is in, and then reflect on how you can use this time to your advantage. Pisces is also a deeply spiritual sign, so maybe this could also be a good time for you to think about your life, and where you are heading. You may wish to develop your spirituality...For Catholics, the period of Lent is almost upon us. This is a 40 day period of abstinence and spiritual contemplation - what I call 'the desert period' before the onset of Easter, and all its accompanying sunshine and joy.
These are just some suggestions on how you can use this time to your advantage.

STAY IN BED THURSDAY!!
If I could... I would stay in bed all day Thursday, and cuddle up with Lulu my chihuahua, who doubles as a hot water bottle. I would order all my meals to be brought directly to my boudoir.
Yes, we can expect a considerable amount of planetary turbulence tomorrow, which is why I'd rather stay cocooned inside my shell. The moon in Taurus will be opposing Saturn in Scorpio and squaring the sun in Aquarius, creating a rather nasty irritable T-Square in the heavens - Ouch!! (Egos at war - I said no fightin' y'all!) So if you find yourself feeling grouchy, and rather glum...blame it on the planets. They can't answer back, and besides now you know it's wise to keep a low profile tomorrow, and for the next few days...to be on the safe side!
That's not all...Unfortunately, Mercury the 'mischief planet' turns retrograde tomorrow, and will remain so for the next three weeks. Thankfully, this only happens three times in the year. I already noticed his presence on the road. Sometimes you can feel the retro motion, even before it begins. Driving yesterday, and today, I had two very narrow escapes. I was driving very carefully on a one-way street, with two lanes of traffic. A young fellow on the right lane tried to turn into my left lane - not seeing me in his rear view mirror. Miraculously, he just missed smashing into me. I did not hoot him, as I don't like hooters. He got enough of a fright himself!

Yes, we can expect a considerable amount of planetary turbulence tomorrow, which is why I'd rather stay cocooned inside my shell. The moon in Taurus will be opposing Saturn in Scorpio and squaring the sun in Aquarius, creating a rather nasty irritable T-Square in the heavens - Ouch!! (Egos at war - I said no fightin' y'all!) So if you find yourself feeling grouchy, and rather glum...blame it on the planets. They can't answer back, and besides now you know it's wise to keep a low profile tomorrow, and for the next few days...to be on the safe side!
That's not all...Unfortunately, Mercury the 'mischief planet' turns retrograde tomorrow, and will remain so for the next three weeks. Thankfully, this only happens three times in the year. I already noticed his presence on the road. Sometimes you can feel the retro motion, even before it begins. Driving yesterday, and today, I had two very narrow escapes. A WHOLE LOT OF HORSE!
To be honest, I'm not too familiar with Chinese Astrology. I'm more into Western Astrology. That being said, the Year of the Horse is upon us, and curiosity got the better of me, so I investigated the matter a little further...
It would appear that the Horse is a fiery creature, and the fact this is the Year of the Wooden Horse only adds fuel to the fire. So we're advised to be a strong rider in control of the horse, and when driving, we must leave our anger and frustration on the passenger seat! It's not going to be an easy year for negotiations and compromise, as people will tend to stick to their principles and stand firm! So unfortunately, it is going to be a fast year, full of conflicts.
Not everything in life is a race. You need to think about how your start, how you jump over a few hurdles, and how quickly you want to get past that finishing post. Strategy and a plan-of-action for your endeavours will be important this year. People engaged in the fire or wood industries will do very well this year. Not so good for the property market in the first six months. It will remain low, so if planning to sell, be patient and hold out until the second half of the year when the property market will rise again.
Getting married this year? Oops...the Chinese believe it is not an auspicious year for marriage. It will be interesting to see how many Chinese marriages take place this year, as they are even more superstitious than me. But I'm not sure how seriously I would take that. The last time we had the Chinese year of the Wood Horse was back in 1954 - 60 years ago. That was the year my parents got married, and they enjoyed 58 good years together, until dad's death last year. So don't be put off! I find the Chinese astrology a bit too general.
Apparently the Horse doesn't like the rat - doesn't trust the rat, which means 2014 is not a favourable year for those born in the year of the Rat - who wants to hear news like that? Well as long as the rat keeps things out in the open I guess that would help... It promises to be a good year for us Roosters, as the Horse is a farm animal, and so is the rooster. We roosters need to keep the noise levels down, and not be too afraid of the large imposing horse. Hmm...wonder how I'll do that?
The Horse is most compatible with the tiger, sheep and dog, so people born in those years should have an auspicious year. Since it is a wooden horse year with a strong influence of Fire and Earth, people with lots of fire and earth in their charts should also do well.
The bottom line is pay attention to what you are doing this year, apply due diligence and caution in business, especially real estate. Present yourself with grace and dignity, as the Horse is a graceful animal, and one of the most popular of the Chinese animals. Don't be too brash or showy. If you push too hard, you'll annoy the horse - and you wouldn't want to do that, would you? It's a year that favours those with a cool, calm head about them. Be open to compromise...Do you think you can handle that? Hope so. A lump of sugar will do wonders too. The horse is a fairly straight forward animal. I think I can relate to it more than a Dragon or a Tiger. Hope so!

HAPPY HORSE DAY!
The above little fellow I purchased in Chinatown yesterday, for the princely sum of $4.49. The owner of the shop lovingly wrapped him in Chinese newspaper, as if it was delicate porcelain, which made it feel all the more special. He now sits ceremoniously in the Good Fortune section of my home, as determined by a Feng Shui expert. Here's hoping Good Luck will gallop its way into our home this year...as least I tried!!
When visiting Chinatown today, Kevin and I wandered into a little junk shop. There I spied these lucky jade shamrocks for $17.95 - not bad! Hubby bought them for me for Good Luck!
Remember yesterday, I mentioned I was going to go to Chinatown and get these little lucky red envelopes and fill them with chocolate coins and red candy treats for my friends. Well I did, and above is the end result!
Yesterday, the air was alive with excitement as we heralded in the Chinese Year of the Horse. I went down to Chinatown to get my horse ornament, red lucky bags for friends, and some candy to put in them. I'm kinda traditional in that respect - and so superstitious! The sun was shining and it was one of those lovely heart warming early Spring days. You can see the little baby buds appearing on the trees and shrubs. What's not to love about Spring?
Parking is expensive in Chinatown. I had this really strong feeling that somebody was going to be nice, and offer me their parking ticket as they left. As I got out of the car, and walked towards the meter, a lovely lady came towards me with a big smile on her face "Here" she said, handing me her ticket, as she left. It was good for four hours! So you could say I got my little red lucky envelopes and candies for free!! What a nice start to the Year of the Horse!
It was my friend Anita's birthday today, so seven gal pals got together to celebrate with her last night. I handed out my little red lucky bags which went down a treat. I think Anita is a 'typical' Aquarian, in that she is very friendly, sociable, intelligent, and enjoys a large circle of friends. She is kindly in disposition, and likes to express her individuality in the way she dresses. It may be something so simple as a classy, unusual pair of shoes, or her vibrant rainbow coloured reading glasses. Whenever you see somebody who has a 'unique' edge to them, with non-conformist tendencies - bet you it's an Aquarian! Blue of any hue looks divine on them, which is why my gift to Anita was a cobalt blue scarf, with matching top and nail polish. Knowledge of astrology is very useful when choosing a gift for a friend.
Tomorrow, I'll tell you what's happening for each of the Chinese animals in the Year of the Horse. I'll also give you a flavour of what you can expect in the Chinese Year of the Wood Horse.

SEIZE THE DAY!
Today is the day to make that intention - and stick to it this time! Why? We have a new moon in the 'fixed' sign of Aquarius. New Moons are great for new beginnings. Great day to make a whole new start... So if you didn't stick with your New Year resolutions, do it today - do it NOW! FOCUS TO WIN!
Why focus on relationships? It's my passion. Ever since I first developed an interest in Astrology at the age of 12, it was never about 'the future'. It was always about people, and our interactions with each other. It began in the schoolroom observing teachers interact with pupils (when I should have been studying my books...oops!!) and then watching fellow students interact each other. That fascinated me - and to this day still does.
When I was in the dating phase, naturally, it became very important. In fact, it was very useful information to have at my fingertips. It helped me to avoid a lot of unnecessary pain and anguish. In addition, I always prayed for divine intervention. Mr. Right came into my own life at a very young age - and some 44 years later, he's still 'Mr. Right'. Did astrology help? Absolutely!
Then when I became a Momma to three adorable daughters - each from a different element of the zodiac to mine, it sure enlightened me, and I think that understanding helped our Mother/Daughter bond become so strong. In addition, the bond between the sisters.
Of course chapters can also be written about the relationship between employers and employees. During my years of working in the world of business, my knowledge of astrology was an invaluable tool to have at my disposal. It helped me enormously in getting along with others, which is the key to business success. When there was conflict, or wonderful rapport, I always found out the DOBs of the people in question. In the process, I learned more about compatible, and incompatible, astrological chemistry.
Astrology is a complicated science - some would call it an art. I think it is a combination of both. You are more than just your sun sign and planetary make-up, which can be as intricate and individual as your fingerprint. No two charts are identical. Add to the mix your upbringing and cultural background. Each adds a dimension to your personality, which can either bring out the best, or the worst, of your astrological inheritance.
The great news is that you can learn it for yourself! In addition to studying the art/science of astrology, a huge percentage of your learning relies on human observation, and the study of real lives. Reading biographies and obtaining birth data is a fascinating journey of discovery...

ALL THE PRESIDENT'S WOMEN - OH MON DIEU!
French President Francois Hollande is not my version of a 'heartthrob' but then again love is blind...right?
He is currently caught in a very stormy love triangle and as a hot-blooded Leo - loving every minute of it! As I said in a previous blog, it's harder to get a Leo man to tone down the heat, than it is to pull a bone from a starving dog. What's with these Leo leaders anyhow? Bill Clinton of the "I did not have sex with that woman" fame, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who disgraced himself with the family nanny. Having worked that hard to achieve power, why blow it??
Hollande apparently is shy of commitment, and has never married any of his women. He has four children with Segolene Royal who he was with for 25 years. His partner of the past 9 years, Valerie Trierweilen is recovering in hospital from a nervous breakdown after news leaked he was having an affair with French Actress, Julie Gayet, 20 years his junior. Close friends describe him as being a very funny and affable character, who has both a light, and a heavy side to his nature. This would be very much in keeping with his Sun Leo/Moon Capricorn combination. Ambitious? Yes - Very!!
Of course not all Leo men are like that! Because it is a 'fixed' sign, they can also be very proud and dignified in their behaviour. Unfortunately, Leo men in positions of power - more than any other sign, do tend to attract sycophants. The same can be said about the female of the species. Yes, they are pretty vulnerable in that department.
In a country where extra-marital affairs are as common as croque monsieur, nobody bats an eyelid...except the devastated ladies involved. Hollande's surreptitious comings and goings to Gayet's home, riding on his 'most unpresidential scooter' were caught on camera. His conservative black shoes and socks were a giveaway. Ha!
I decided to investigate the matter further, and find out which lady would be the best match for him. It was interesting what I came up with. Both his first partners were a good match for him intellectually, and I could see how he was drawn to each one. Both Segolene and Valerie have a strong Virgo component, which would have attracted his deeper side.
I think his current love interest, actress Julie Gayet is just too airy-fairy to sustain his interest for long. She is a double air sign, and her moon in Aquarius opposes his strong stubborn Leo sun, so once the novelty wears off...I think he'll get back on his scooter to Valerie Trierweilen, who in my opinion, is the best match for him - intellectually and romantically. Even though her sun in Aquarius is polar opposite to his Leo sun, the chemistry between them is strong, and both their moons in earth signs are compatible. The overall compatibility and mutual respect is there. She gets my vote.
As Hollande approaches his 60th birthday in August, it soothes his ego to be with a woman 20 years his junior. It has to be said Julie Gayet is a charming Gemini, and is easy on the eye...everything Marilyn Monroe was. I guess he needed a bit of a relief from the highly intelligent and anxiety-ridden Trierweilen. Karma is going to bite him in the butt. I think in time Julie may tire of his pot belly, saggy baggy skin, and sweaty black socks.
If he came to me on his scooter in the dead of night and asked my opinion, I'd advise him to go back to Valerie - if she'll still have him. I hope he reads this!!

MOMMY AND DADDY KARDASHIAN
I am not being mean or sarcastic when I say my heart truly bleeds for Bruce and Kris. I watched their new show last night, along with millions of other Kardashian-curious viewers. The sad and fearful expressions on their childrens' faces as they tried to break the news that "No - we're not separating - just living apart" spoke volumes. Poor Kris seemed genuinely upset.
Shame it has to end this way...and the sad - very sad thing is - it may not have ended this way if they lived a 'normal' life. They have successfully kept it together for 23 years - more than most in Hollywood. And astrologically speaking, there is immense love between them. They are both passionate Scorpios, so the bond between them will always be strong.
I would say that the cameras in his home all the time must have driven the secretive and immensely private Bruce insane. So curious was I to get a closer look at them, I checked out their DOB's. Unfortunately, no time of births, but enough information to give me a good idea.
Even though both are sun sign Scorpios - there is a considerable difference in their charts - big differences! For one thing Bruce has his moon in Aquarius. There is a rather cold and detached side to his personality, which clearly is manifesting itself now. Frequently people with a moon in Aquarius have had a troubled childhood. Children of alcoholics, or children who have lost a parent at a young age frequently have this moon placement. Lady Diana had it, and her parents separated. A lady I knew had it, and her dad died when she was 8. A client whose mum walked out on the family had it - just some examples of what I mean.
On the other hand, Kris has her moon in warm Cancer, hence her love for her children - and lots of them!! Kris is currently going through a very difficult time, with both her natal Saturn in Scorpio, and the fact the planet Saturn is currently lodged in Scorpio. Saturn is slow moving, and when it is in a sign, you can be sure that challenges are par for the course. So with Saturn in Scorpio, and both of them being Scorpio - it's double the pain!! In addition to that pain, Kris has even more agony with the planet Mars currently in Libra, and Uranus in Aries - driving her insane. Her boxing gloves have been on 24/7!!
January would have been a month from hell for poor Kris. Her natal mars in Libra would have clashed horribly with all that Capricorn energy around. She has been in battle with Bruce - that's for sure, and of the two of them, I think Kris has the more tender heart. Bruce has that double dose of fixed energy in his chart which I spoke about yesterday - so that means he is the more stubborn of the two. So getting him to come back to the family nest may be very difficult - if not impossible! Kris knows not to push him...
So what's going to happen to Bruce and Kris? I'm not overly optimistic at the moment. I think too much hurt and pain has been caused to Kris, and she may retaliate by getting a young, muscular hunk of a guy to occupy the void left by Bruce - just like Scorpio native Demi Moore did when Aquarian Ashton Kutcher left her for a younger woman.
Do you know some Scorpios going through a difficult time at the moment? If so, it is because of that Saturn in Scorpio. Things will begin to ease considerably in the second half of the year as its power lessens.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!
It's everywhere I turn these days - not to mention the arrival of the red and pink fluffy stuff. Forget Christmas. Right now, the business is about floating hearts - lots of them!! The Valentine's Day brigade are shameless. They didn't give us a moment to catch our breath after Boxing day - and boy we needed to catch our breath! Fasten your chastity belts - we're in the season of LOVE!
Since last we spoke, I've been a very busy little Cupid. Up to my 'Love- Linking' little tricks! I knew this eligible bachelor, and a lovely divorcee. I felt they would be a good match for each other. So, throwing caution to the wind, I introduced them this past weekend. I was the chaperon, sitting between them in the restaurant. Let me tell you darlings - the sparks were flying - good sparks! So hot were they, I burnt my little brain, and left my reading glasses behind me. The two have been in regular contact since Friday, and they have arranged a further date...and more...and more!! You are not going to believe the other astrological co-incidence - she is the same sign as Michelle Obama - and the Merry Monsieur is the same sign as Barack!! I know exactly how to counsel them. But try and tell a Leo man to turn down the heat, is like trying to pull a bone from a hungry dog!!
Yes, it's a tough job being a matchmaker - but someone has to do it. When astro-counselling couples, I have to be direct and tell it like it is. Not always easy, but nevertheless, it is appreciated. When somebody comes to your door bearing their soul and heart, you have to handle them with tender loving care. Like the day I had to tell an earnest young fellow to employ caution, and that I did not feel the relationship was meant to be. He listened, and against my advice pursued his lady love, to discover she was madly in love with somebody else. Love it is a funny thing...blind...insane...addictive - but if you're not in - you can't win!
Love really is all about compromise...Some time ago, a couple came to see me. He had an invisible leash around his neck. As an Astro-Cupid, I see things others don't, and I could tell that he would rather be anywhere else! I welcomed them in, and made the customary tea, giving them a chance to relax and chill. Both their birth charts were unfortunately populated with a preponderance of planets in the 'fixed', or in layman's language 'stubborn' signs - Taurus - Leo - Scorpio and Aquarius. Yes, if you have a lot of these signs in your chart - you're going to be...how do I say this politely? - without offending...the word I am trying to ease out is... STUBBORN! On the plus side, you are very loyal, and don't give up easily. On the negative side, it can sometimes be a case of 'It's my way or the highway...! The art of compromise needs to be cultivated by people with a lot of 'fixed' energy in their charts.
"So who gets the final word?" I asked. "Him" she said, pointing to her husband. "Her" he added, pointing to his good Missus. I could see that compromise was a difficult pill for either one to swallow. We discussed their relationship, and as my guides would have it, we began to discuss his childhood, and relationship with his mother (very important!!).
Because they were both so set in their ways, we joked about it. I decided to turn what could be an emotionally charged session, into a more light-hearted humorous experience. I told them they needed to draw lots to decide on an issue. They loved that idea. Simple as it may sound. By the end of our session, they were holding hands, and all lovey-dovey again. Once we had discussed some strategies on moving on as a couple, the temperature in the room cooled down considerably. Smiles returned.
Tune in for some more stories in the next few days...There are loads of celebrities that I am literally itching to digest!!

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
Just about everything is wrong with this picture. In this rather amusing 'two's company - three's a crowd' moment, the look on Michelle's face says it all, doesn't it?
In the blink of an eye, this snapshot captures for me the relationship between Barack and Michelle. Barack is a typical Leo. He loves the limelight, and shines in the public eye. Yes, if he wasn't a President, he could have been a movie star. But what about serious, ambitious, career-minded Capricorn, Michelle? Was their match made in Heaven? Yes, and No...!!
The yes part is when he tunes into his more sensitive side, which is evidenced by his ultra sweet Venus in Cancer. Yeah! for Michelle. Even though her birth chart says she has a moon in zero degrees Pisces, I think it's more Aquarius. Either way she is near enough to having a pisces moon, which would make her quite a sensitive soul, so Barack needs to tread softly on occasion. The bad part is when he doesn't...and I suspect this happens from time to time, as above picture would suggest.
Barack also has his mars in Virgo, which works nicely with her sun in Capricorn. Her Jupiter in Aries gives her the necessary feist to deal with Barack's fiery moments. Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are the fire signs. Wherever you see these in a person's chart, you know they got a bit of chili hot pepper in that department! Michelle's Jupiter in Aries tells me that Barack is lucky for her, as her Jupiter trines his sun. So yes, it was a 'lucky' pairing. They are good for each other, and have each other's back. Barack's retrograde Saturn in Capricorn causes him moments of self-doubt. This is eased by Michelle's loving devotion which makes him feel secure. Beneath all his bravado, there is a little pussy cat needing to be stroked. Lady Michelle is all too aware of this - which is a good thing!
Michelle herself attributes the success of their relationship to "Compromise Compromise Compromise". I would add the word 'Ambition' to the mix. Michelle is both intelligent, and highly ambitious. If they were not so much in the public eye, or had so much money at their disposal, I feel that visits to a relationship counselor would have been on the cards. They are both strong minded individuals, but because Barack has his sun, moon and asc. in fixed signs - he is one seriously stubborn fellow! Michelle has a liberal dose of 'fixed' energy too, but not so afflicted in this department as Barack. In addition, Michelle is not a quitter, and can be tough as nails, when the situation calls for it. There is a lot at stake here for this 'Power Couple', which is what the Leo/Capricorn mix is all about.
Astrologically speaking, and putting all their love ingredients together, I think there is enough love, mutual respect, loyalty, support, and romance for this relationship to last. Let's be honest - Barack is in love with himself, which leaves very little room for poor Michelle on occasion! She just orbits his sun, and that's the way he likes it. Her job is to support her man 24/7, and this she does with all the drive and superhuman work ethic, native to her Capricorn earthy sun. Ambition fuels her obedience to duty.
What brought them together? Barack's moon in earthy Taurus and Mars in earthy Virgo, plus Venus is softy Cancer was a Godsend! Phew - that sure saved the day. Traditionally, A Leo/Capricorn alliance is not a match made in heaven. It depends on other elements to sustain it. Thankfully, they exist. His moon perfectly trines Michelle's sun in Capricorn. There is chemistry there - not in buckets - but enough to ignite the fire, and keep it going. Barack has a generous helping of earthy sensuality, which helps the situation enormously. In addition his ascendant in cool, airy Aquarius hits the spot perfectly with Michelle's moon in equally cool, detached Aquarius. So, there definitely are pockets of perfection in their union.
He is a showman, so will always put his best foot forward. Michelle by nature is a very practical, kind-hearted, home-loving gal. As an earthy Capricorn, she needs a man who gives her lots of TLC. Her ideal partner would be both sensitive, and touchy-feely - AND Successful - yes, that goes with her astrological turf. No good having a brawny butch boy, if he doesn't have the brains! She can organize an evening with the Chippendales any time.
So what does Michelle need to do to keep Barack from playing footsy with the Danish Prime Minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, who happens to be Sagittarius - his most compatible sign!! O.K. Let's not panic...He is not going to elope with her - I promise.

1. Chillax more - loosen up - tell dirty jokes - Seriously!
2. Sit and listen to him sing...even if she wants to go to sleep.

5. Laughter is the key to this man's heart.

1. Cook her an omelet for breakfast, just because...
2. Buy her a little piece of 'Victoria's Secret' and call it 'Michelle's Secret'.
3. Whisper sweet nothings in her ear, when nobody is looking.
4. Spend more time with the girls - all three.
5. Accompany them on visits to J-Crew, and hold the shopping bags.
